Vision Conference

Motion elements used in promotional pieces and on-site AV production for an annual conference for international students. Each year’s event often uses a distinct visual style (color palette and visual elements) reflective of the varying host city/region. The project requires a balance of visual brand continuity in the logo’s motion design and also versatility for use in promo videos with themes ranging from fun and exciting to serious or contemplative content.

    • Stakeholder/Client: Bridges International

    • Graphic Design: Adam Smith (source elements/style guide)

    My Work

Recreation of textures, vectors, etc from promotional materials and the conference style guide for use with motion.
Deliverables include the primary logo reveal (mountain/snow scene), tags for use with promotional videos displaying the logo, registration info, etc., a looping gif. for use in social media, sharing and other communication. On-site display resources such as introduction videos displaying speaker names and looping bumpers.

I remember showing your work to people. It made me so excited to join the team!

Honor Restored Training Series

Animation demonstrating the use of the Honor Restored conversation guide.

The project aimed to engage the viewer’s attention and interest by illustrating the concepts, stories, quoted text, and the technical instructions from pre-produced audio narration. One challenge was translating the style of the source illustration to a range of different video topics (and stories/imagery) while maintaining visual consistency between the eight segments.

This was the assignment that initiated my love of animation work. The scope of the project pushed me to advance my competency in animation concepts, After Effects workflow practices, and features like expressions and the graph editor.

San Francisco Vision Dinner

Video intro for a regional gathering for donors (and broadcast to virtual attendees.) The piece highlights ministry stats and scope among the Cru movements of San Francisco area Colleges and Universities. Though the stakeholders’ request was for a motion graphic illustration of a vision statement and a few statistics, through the offering of a few suggestions, I found there was value in using this initial spot in the meeting agenda to demonstrate the positive vision and impact of the local Cru movements.

A short project timeline dictated a higher level of autonomy for the visual direction of the piece and, though I prefer to use original elements, stock resources helped me go beyond the minimum scope of the project to include audio and footage of the city. My favorite fun motion segment is the layered bounce of the neighborhood houses and trees. Knowing this work wasn’t simply for text delivery, these additional elements and the personality of the motion were tools for drawing out positive feelings in connection with Cru and with the city.
